Lost in Translation

Not long ago, many people were discussing about the topic, teaching science and mathematics in English or 'Bahasa'.

huge argument in between these two schools, some said teaching in English will prepare the youngsters for a brighter future. more up-to-date it seems, and able to speak in a much proper English than current 'Manglish'... other said, we have to hold on with our culture, from old days, ancestor-age 'Bahasa' to cultivate the youngsters to be a proud Malaysian! will it work? i don't think so lor...

for sure, most of the information and data are collected in English. if we insist to change all English to 'Bahasa', try this....

Hardware = barang keras

Software = barang lembut

Joystick = batang gembira

Plug and Play = cucuk dan main

Port = lubang

Server = pelayan

Client = pelanggan

Try to translate this:

ENGLISH:
That server gives a plug and play service to the client using either hardware or software joystick. The joystick goes into the port of the client.

Now in BAHASA:
Pelayan itu memberi pelanggannya layanan cucuk dan main dengan menggunakan batang gembira jenis keras atau lembut. Batang gembira itu akan dimasukkan ke dalam lubang pelanggan.

so,
what do you think?

i will rather keep in English, than being laugh by others.
shame, shame...
